What does the back of your embroidery look like? That's a current topic over at
Craftster.org. Above is the front and back detail of my Marianne Faithfull portrait for the winter issue of
VENUS. Click the pic to see the whole piece. From the front.

Okay, this is not turning into a society column, I promise... A good friend of mine spotted a pillow I embroidered in the December '04 issue of
W magazine. This wan't just any commission:
Carrie Fisher hired me to embroider a portrait of Elizabeth Taylor's beloved dog Sugar as a birthday gift to her last year.
W was doing a feature on La Liz and my pillow turned up in the spread! I was really worried about whether or not she'd like it, and seeing it among her collection of needlepoint pillows, I guess I have my answer. If you'd like to see a detail of the pillow,
click here. Is there a good story behind all of this? You bet. You
might hear more about this adventure of mine with Carrie Fisher in an upcoming issue of
BUST. Stay tuned!
