Ooooh... It's finally here. The Apron. I've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this 100% cotton, super sweet, wearable stitching canvas. I started donning an apron a couple years back when I realized my dinner guest were slightly appalled at the cake batter smeared all over my jeans. I'm a new stitcher - (the sparrows on my first tea towel look more like a species of predatory terror bird) but stitching Kurt Halsey on an apron will definitely be my next crafty attempt! - Jessica

Porch Show in Brooklyn! If you're in NYC, be sure to stop in Cinders Gallery and have a look at the Porch Show where I have work hanging along with Caroline Hwang, Rich Jacobs, Eric Beltz, Jeana Sohn and more. Man, I wish I could have been there for the opening! Remember, you can always check the exhibitions page on www.jennyhart.net to see where I have art on display.

Of course! Craftorama! Why oh why wasn't there a store in Austin called Craftorama before? Well, thank heavens there is now. They even went and had a Sublime Stitching Night and sent us pictures to prove it. Guy, I missed out. What I want to know is, why didn't they tell us before (so I could show up in a hat and sunglasses to see what people were saying...)? If you're in Austin, be sure to stop by Craftorama on South Congress! They look like nice people.

Greetings, Sublime Stitching Blog readers! Jessica here, Jenny's veracious supernatural being of diminutive human form, and well, uh, helper. Today I'm helping by using my magical blogging powers so that Jenny can continue to work on all the mah-vuh-luhs new products she has up her sleeve. If you're in Austin, come help us celebrate the Summer Solstice this Thursday:
WHAT: Ararat Restaurant's Black Tie and Flip Flop Affair to benefit their search for a new home
WHEN: Thursday, June 21st 6pm-Midnight
WHERE: Cafe Mundi , Austin, TX
WHY: Sublime Stitching will have a Booth!
They're setting up a bazaar filled with psychic readings, handmade jewelry, local arts, crafts, community/world information, and belly dancers. Mmm, belly dancers. Plus DJ MaryMac (a.k.a. Mary, our General Manager) will be providing a booty-shakin' dance party! Please come by, say hi and support the future of this beloved Austin institution. We'll be there with finger-bells on.

Embroidering on paper. Mary, who is the wonderful General Manager here at Sublime Stitching, has lately been doing all her stitching on paper. No, working in embroidery is not a prerequisite for working at Sublime Stitching, but it seems like I keep catching her working thread and needle on paper any time she's stitching. Neato. And, I just love that she made this sweet, handmade card for Father's Day. I'm glad she wasn't too shy about letting me post it here...
