Thread Heaven - true to its name

Thread Heaven was given to me by a stitcher friend and I thought - I don't need this stuff - well, I said hmmm - this person sent it to me for a reason - so I went ahead and tried it - LOVE it!!! This stuff is amazing - and yes - I wondered about the glitter - from the gold lettering on the top of the box - oh well - the stuff still works - and we all need a little glitter in our life! Don't you think!
Love this site - Love you Jenny
So go ahead - Try it! You'll like it - I mean Love it!!!

So is this wonder product

So is this wonder product similar to beeswax? I have beeswax left over from long, long, long ago candle wicking projects. (Gad, 25+ years ago!) It's still soft and pliable and it is what I use on embroidery thread for now. Am I making a crafting faux pas?

Question about Thread Heaven

Shortly after your previous post regarding Thread Heaven I was lucky enough to receive some as a gift and discovered the magic for myself. Here's my question regarding it's use though, when using separated strands do you treat before or after? I read somewhere that it helped separate the strands more easily suggesting that you treat it first but my instinct is to treat just the strands I'm using.

Like Beeswax? Separate before or after?

Because beeswax is a natural product, it can break down over time, cause your fibers to degrade and possibly discolor. That's my understanding. So, no- it is not like beeswax.

I think it's best to use it before you separate your threads, because it reduces static and makes separating easier.

Since you asked...;)
