Dude. This took forever.
"So, I spent aalll this time making a gift for (insert soon-to-be ex-friend's name here) and they just tossed it aside like 'whatever' and didn't even seem to appreciate it! Grrrr..." I've come across such plaintive blog entries and comments more than a few times in my DIY days. Since Christmas is approaching, and since I know lots of you are gonna be stitching up gifts (HINT), I thought these might come in handy. You won't have to say a word. Just bat your eyes innocently, exuding nothing but the spirit of giving-givy-ness and let the label say what you want to (but probably shouldn't).
And by the way...
Remember the ribbon I brought back from Paris? You should, since it sold out before I could even hit "send" on the newsletter (I'm not really exaggerating). Here is more "Fait Avec Amour" (Made With Love) ribbon for you!

I’ve been knitting and crocheting for years and always made things for my two kids which they wore all the time. My husband (at the time) said he felt bad because I never made him anything. So I got a wonderful pattern for a crocheted man’s pullover, The stitching was unique and it was finished in a timely manner. Well first, he NEVER wore it and second he lent it to someone to wear while they were tarring my roof and I don’t have to tell you what happened. Yep, tar all over the sleeves. When I saw the damage my heart sank. I’ve gone back to knitting for my kids who are now grown and my two grand children. Taking the time to make something by hand comes from the heart and the person who does nothing with it has no appreciation.

I am unemployed so willbe giving a lot of handmade gifts this year. I have come to the conclusion that not everyone respects handmade. I plan to attach a tag to my gifts I give that will say “I understand if my gift is not to your liking.I will not be insulted if you chose not to wear it. All I ask is that you pass the gift along to someone who will use it.”

I had a quilt that took me 7 years to complete. My family still teases me about it!

Just ordered a set for my two-year-in-the-making crochet granny square blanket. 252 granny squares. 19 skeins of yarn. And over 2 years later….I’m still 3 rows of stitching away from completion! This label is perfect and everyone will have a great laugh over it! I cannot wait till it arrives.
