As if seeing an old friend from my youth, Dr. Martens now come embroidered. The only way these could be cooler is if they looked like they were hand embroidered instead of machine embroidered. (Say that to the wearer and risk getting a boot in the mouf.) Ah, we all know punks are softies. Still, if it were up to me, I'd put more old-fashioned-looking handwork designs on them for contrast and call 'em Grans. Or Granny Kickers. Or Going to Nana's With a Coffee Cake So What?

These? I'd call these Ferdinands.
