Sublime Stitchalong! -updated

Last night, totally on a whim, I decided to do a stitchalong via instagram and twitter. Did you miss it? Of course you did! That's because you had zero advance warning. It was Sunday evening, I got a wild hair to just stitch up the new free pattern, and thought "why not post my progress to instagram?". Seeing as how I post a photo to instagram every other five minutes anyway...It was an experiment of sorts. I liked it. You liked it. We all liked it!
Want to be sure not to miss the next one? Want to know how it works? Easy. Super informal. No pressure. The next time I do a Sublime Stitchalong, I'll announce in advance via twitter, the facebook page and ye olde fashioned Sublime Stitching blog. I'll let you know what pattern I'm doing, what time I'll start, and what hashtag to use for the project. You can ask me questions, I'll tell you what stitches I'm using, and you can share your own progress with everyone participating.
Don't have an iPhone? No problem! You can follow all the images I post to instagram online via statigram, and updates will tweeted.
If you want to see all the photos from last night's stitchalong, here they are!

But wait! It's not really finished. This pattern was designed as a frame, and it still needs something in the middle of it. To be continued...
➳ UPDATE 5/24/12
Me and my big mouth. "What should I stitch in the middle? Hmmm?" Of course: a satin stitched monogram has been the top suggestion. Gosh, that couldn't have anything to do with the satin-stitch tutorial I just posted along with that immaculate example, could it? Who am I but your stitching fool anyway?
Gulp. Okay -here goes:

See? It's hard for me, too! To be continued...Meanwhile, post your own progress on this pattern to instagram with #sublimestitchalong

I would stitch — Hi.
Diane U
I’d put a Tardis in the middle just because I am having Dr Who withdrawal. I think it would be fun to have something unexpected.
Sheryl
It reminds me of flying for some reason…I’m thinking a small hot air balloon would give the illusion of it being up in the cloud or I might use one of the flowers in another pattern I have of Sublime Stitching’s.
Tracy
I also think a satin stitched initial would look great.
morgan
I love it! I think something ‘earthy’ such as a little bluebird or butterfly would look super cute in that frame.

You are so schmart! This design is adorable. I think I’ll frame a name in mine. Thank you Sweet Jenny!

i see the word “happiness” in lower case letters working really well there. embroidered words make me happy.

This is pretty. I love the idea of a stitch-along and would love to participate in the next one. I agree, a name or initials would look good in the middle :)
audrey
How about a corny rebus that makes a face…One eye can be an eye, the other eye a heart and the mouth can be stitches that form a smile: “I Love stitches”.
Anna Socrates
Love this. You should offer people options of what to put in the middle. I am just thinking it would be the perfect shape for a dragonfly. But a monograph would work too.
Renee
I like the idea of a name in the middle. Stitchers could use an alphabet pattern to stitch their own name or the name of someone special. Better yet, they can stitch over their own handwriting in water soluble ink.

I think it needs a satin stiched initial :)

Thank you so much Christy! I think watching it go from smudgy outlines to stitched delight is worth the effort! (does this mean you’re going to stitch it up now yourself?)

I saw your pattern on Instragram and it looked cool but the finished product is beautiful!
