Giveaway! Embellished: New Vintage (ended)

The very kind people at A&C Black Publishers (Bloomsbury, London) sent me a copy of Karen Nicol's incredible book of couture embroidery design and inspiration. I asked, knowing that I'd want to greedily keep it for myself (let's just be honest here), if they'd possibly consider sending an extra copy so I could give one away to you? They said yes!
♥ For this giveaway, one winner will receive one copy of Embellished: New Vintage by Karen Nicol ♥

THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. See below for the winner!
Comment to win! (Do just one of these things. Not all three, silly):
> Tweet - "Pretty please with stitches on top! Pick me to win Embellished: New Vintage by Karen Nicol from @Bloomsburybooks" to @sublimestitch via twitter.

We can see ALL comments that have been made on our side. Promise!

@Fumy Wow! A breakup over the application of glitter. I think the point is: it’s not the medium that determines whether or not it’s art, it’s what you do with it. xo

What a fun book! I’d love to win a copy. Thanks for the cool giveaway.

The editorial review on Amazon says that “Nicol swiftly dispels the myth that embroidery is a dying, outmoded art”, and that she is “truly excited about the potential of embroidery” – this is inspiring. I’m not an artist, but a while back I got into an argument with an old boyfriend (who thought of himself as artistic) regarding using glitter in serious, high-brow art, and he told me that wouldn’t be considered real art because you were using a craft medium; albeit we broke up. Glitter is nice, what’s wrong with glitter on works of art? Embroidering using metallic thread, that’s like using glitter on canvas. Do you and Nicol think metallic thread have a place in embroidery as art?
