Snoozy Owls
This blog entry on Beauty in the Details pretty much made my day, as you might imagine. Now, I know not everyone is in the market for a baby bib kit, but there just so happen to be some patterns inside that don't come in anything else, like the snoozy owls. And then there's the "Open Up!" design, which I am rather proud of, ifIdosaysomyself. (None of these hafta go on a bib either, you know.)

The Pinpals
Whew! I am back home in Austin after my book tour took me to Crafty Planet in Minneapolis and Renegade Handmade in Chicago (next month: San Francisco and Los Angeles!). It was so much fun getting to see old friends and make new ones. Thank you, to everyone who came out to see me! But enough about moi...
Renegade Handmade is currently showcasing the works of numerous embroidery artists. I'm always excited to get to see new work like this. I especially enjoyed the wall-hangings and jewelry of Candian-based The PinPals. They have hand-stitched buttons, earrings, lockets and pendants. Love!

Embroidered Boots
Pip at Meet Me At Mike's in Sydney, Australia, just sent me a link to these absolutely mind-blowing boots that were entirely hand-made, designed and embroidered by Emma Greenwood. I am speechless. I am emailing her to request a custom pair of fantasy boots. A girl can dream, right?
Aquarabbit
All of Dana Robson's embroidery work is darling, but I'm especially fond of this piece. I love the network of bold geometric shapes coupled with the sweet little bird.
Pattern as a Stamp!
This was a wonderful surprise to my week. Look at what Veroka in Argentina made from the Free Kokeshi pattern I put on Flickr! She made a really beautiful rubber stamp from it. Looks like a Japanese woodcut. I love how she hand-embellished the kimono with flowers. *Deep satisfied, happy sigh*. Link
Bees Go West
I was a-doing the blog rounds, checking in on Feeling Stitchy and loveloveloved this cutecutecute towel that s@r@lynn stitched with the Julie West patterns. See? This is what you can do with this repeatable iron-ons!

Kokeshi - Free Pattern!
Jenny collects Kokeshi dolls - you know, the cute wooden Japanese dolls with helmet hair and no arms or legs. There's a collection in her kitchen, a teensy one dangling from her cellphone, and lately - doodles of them on her desk. Well, she decided to transform one of the sketches into a embroidery pattern and share it with you for free! Yippee! You can download it below, or on our flickr page. After you stitch it up will you pretty please submit it to the Customer Gallery? They are going to be so sweet!
Above are a few other Kokeshi finds on Etsy from Mirabel, Temple7e (yes. that is a princess leia kokeshi) and Stephanie Fizer.

If you want to follow our twitter updates (little one-sentence blurbs with links, like a mini-blog), just visit Sublime Stitching on Twitter and follow us!
