Hard (Plastic) Embroidery
How'd she do that? Found in the Sublime Stitching Flickr Pool, this vintage jar embroidered by Mafiosagrrl! She's using it as a small sewing case- but crafters wanna know: how did she do that?
(Made with my Dress Up patterns, so you know I love that.)
UPDATE: Tutorial Posted on her blog!
The Duvet Project
This photo caught my eye a coupla weeks ago for a few reasons. (Polishing glasses.) Ahem:
1. Yay! That's my pattern! (Rhumba dancer found here)
2. Whoah, that is some nice filling work. Great effect. Fast, easy to do, but so effective. I must blog this one. What am I looking at? Where am I? What's that...say down there on the computer screen?
3. Oh! It's part of an larger, even more awesome-er Duvet Project by Giddy99 on Flickr! She says:
In late February 2010 I began embroidering a plain white, queen-sized duvet and the matching shams. The idea is to just embroider a hodge-podge of patterns that appeal to me. It may take years to finish, but I don't care. I'm enjoying it immensely.

HOW TO: Pinup Face
Oh, hello there. >blush< Fancy seeing you here. >blink< >wink<. Do you like my bow? Would you like to see where you can learn to stitch a face like mine? Oh, okay. I'll let you have just a little peek. HOW-TO: Pinup Face
FABRIC USED? This was stitched on one of my aprons, which is the same fabric as my tea-towels!
Keep your eye on the blog for what I'm gonna do with the apron I stitched up! You might be able to win it...Just maybe.
Staggering Stitches
The work of A Million Little Stitches is staggering, and I just can't believe how pretty it is.
Her samplers depict various stitches and their endless, possible
variations and combinations. The obvious enthusiasm for her embroidery is so inspiring and the color choices are delightful. Delightful, I tell you! I wish I could stitch like this.

Gasp-Worthy
I love it when I peek into the Sublime Stitching Flickr Pool and something makes me gasp. Like this pillow of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans by Mae Starr or this pillow Claudia Marchán covered with patterns from my new book of sugar skulls, flourishes, roses and swallows:
Boy-broidery v.2
Zombies & Monsters, Vital Organs, Michael Sieben,
El Diablo, Camp Out, Rock 'n Roll, Lucha Libre, Pirates Ahoy, Tattoo Your Towels...
Fantasia
This bit of free-form embroidered loveliness called "Fantasia" turned up in the Sublime Stitching Flickr Pool by Helga Franz. It looks like she used variegated perl cotton to get the flowing, changing colors. SoOoOoo pretty. Kind of makes me think of a sea anenome, or a fantastic flower releasing multi-colored pollen...(what does it make you think of?)
Robot Santa
Okay now. This submission to the Sublime Stitching Flickr Pool put me in a great mood and definitely wins an award (by "award" I mean "blog entry") for doing something really fun and original with my robot pattern. Let's note all the ways Carrie made this design extra awesome according to her own creative whims:
- candy cane mouth (excellent)
- santa hat (nice touch)
- ornaments for eyes (did you notice those?)
- French knot Christmas lights (bravo on your knots)
- display on his chest reads "gift" (cute)
Sublime Stitch Sampler!
GASP! I think all the air left the room when I sucked in my breath 'cause it was taken away by this absolutely stunningly stitched sampler Jamie made from Embroidered Effects! This is a full-page transfer pattern in the book I made that takes you baby-steps through some more complex stitches, but leaves you with something worthy of display. But, you can choose your own colors, and what to put it on. Jamieobviously obviously (heh) did a WONDERFUL job with those choices. Seeing this totally made my day!
Maneki Neko!
(get this pattern here)
Oh, I loved stitched cards. Geesh, nobuddy ever sends me a stitched card (hint hint). But I'm sure whoever received hopeshore's stitched maneki neko cat from Sushi Bar gushed with glee!
Lots of Sublime-ly stitched Maneki Neko cats! Maneki whut?
